One of the most incredible travel experiences is having an unforgettable immersive experience in a high Andean community. Misminay is an Andean community located in the Cusco region, which in earlier times mainly depended on agriculture and livestock as its primary source of income. However, today it is developing community-based rural tourism. The service is based on immersive experiences offered to tourists, with the purpose of helping them connect through various activities with the daily life of the local community, nature, and the surrounding Andean mountains.

  1. Day 01

    Cusco – Chinchero – Maras – Moray – Misminay – Cusco

    The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco and a visit to Chinchero, where you will explore a traditional textile center and the town’s archaeological site. Along the way, stop at the Raqchi viewpoint to enjoy panoramic views of the Sacred Valley.

    Continue to the Maras Salt Mines, an impressive complex of more than 3,000 salt pools still managed by local families. The next stop is Moray, an archaeological site known for its circular terraces and its possible use as an Inca agricultural experimentation center.

    In the afternoon, arrive at the Mullakas Misminay community, where local residents will welcome you with traditional music, dances and clothing. After enjoying a typical lunch, take part in an Andean weaving demonstration using wool, natural dyes and ancestral techniques.

    At the end of the cultural experience, return to Cusco at approximately 5:00 p.m.

    Breakfast at the Hotel. Our Travel Agency Representative Will Pick You Up From Your Hotel At Approximately 7:00 A.M. We Will Begin This Adventure By Heading To The Town Of Chinchero, Where We Will Visit A Textile Center (Awana), Where They Will Explain The Traditional Textile-Making Process.

    Then We Continue To The Archaeological Site Of Chinchero, Where The Official Tour Guide Will Give A Brief Explanation Of Its Function During Inca Times. Continuing The Tour, We Will Make A Short Stop At The Raqchi Viewpoint, Where You Can Appreciate Part Of The Sacred Valley Of The Incas And Take Photos.

    Next, We Head To The Maras Salt Mines, Where We Can Observe The Natural Salt Formations With More Than 3,000 Pools Currently Worked By The Community. The Next Stop Is The Moray Archaeological Site, Known As The Inca Agricultural Experimentation Center, Admired For Its Impressive Circular Terraces.

    After This Beautiful Cultural And Natural Tour, We Will Head To The Mullaka Misminay Community Around 2:00 P.M. Upon Arrival, We Will Be Warmly Welcomed With Music, Dances, And Traditional Clothing From The Community Members. We Will Enjoy A Typical Lunch In A House Prepared For Our Visitors, Followed By A Short Rest.

    Activity 01: Textile Making Demonstration

    Experience The Ancestral Process Of Andean Textile Production, Made With Sheep Wool Dyed Using Plants, Minerals, And Natural Ingredients Under A System Called “Away,” Using Handmade Tools Such As Small Wooden Boards And Animal Bones Crafted By The Local People.

    At 5:00 P.M., We Will Say Goodbye To The Mullaka Misminay Community And Return To The City Of Cusco.

    Important: Breakfast On This Day Depends On The Hotel Pick-Up Time.
