However, the dry season from April to October usually offers clearer skies and more stable weather in destinations such as Cusco, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and the Uyuni Salt Flats. From December to March, seasonal rainfall may create the famous mirror effect at Salar de Uyuni, although access to some areas can be limited.

Yes. After the flight from Lima to Cusco, the itinerary includes free time to rest and adjust gradually to the altitude. The following days combine cultural visits and light walking before travelling to Puno and La Paz. Travellers should stay hydrated, walk at a comfortable pace and avoid heavy meals during their first hours in the Andes.

Travellers must carry a valid passport and confirm the entry requirements for Bolivia according to their nationality. Some nationalities may require a tourist visa. Immigration procedures are completed in person during the journey from Puno to La Paz, so passports and supporting documents should always be kept in hand luggage.

We recommend travelling with one main suitcase and a small daypack for daily tours. Essential items include comfortable walking shoes, layered clothing, a warm jacket, sun protection, sunglasses, a hat and a lightweight waterproof layer. Temperatures can change considerably between daytime and nighttime, especially around Lake Titicaca and the Bolivian Altiplano.

The itinerary combines domestic flights, tourist transfers, a scenic train to Machu Picchu, boat trips on Lake Titicaca and intercity buses. The Route of the Sun connects Cusco and Puno with cultural stops, while the journeys between La Paz and Uyuni are operated overnight.
