FAQ

FAQ

The Uyuni Salt Flats have two distinct seasons.

The rainy season, from December to April, is when visitors come to witness the breathtaking mirror effect created on the surface of the salt flats. However, it is important to consider that heavy rainfall, especially between December and January, may affect or cancel tour itineraries.

During the dry season, from May to November, temperatures are colder and the ground becomes hard and solid. This allows travelers to drive across the vast white landscape and access areas that cannot be reached during the rainy season.

The Uyuni Salt Flats are located in Bolivia and can be accessed from different countries, including Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina, depending on your point of departure.

  • From La Paz – approximately 1 hour flight.
  • From La Paz – approximately 8 hours by road.

One of the highlights of the Uyuni Salt Flats is its endless horizon, which allows photographers to play with perspective and depth of field.

The key to taking the best photos is to place the camera as low as possible and as close as you can to the object you are using. This creates a perspective in which the object appears larger than the human subjects, who are positioned farther away.
