    Astronomical Observatory and Atacama Night Sky

    Discover one of the clearest skies in the world on an astronomical tour in San Pedro de Atacama. The experience takes place at an observatory outside the town, where low light pollution provides excellent conditions for stargazing in the Atacama Desert.

    The activity begins with an introduction to astronomy, followed by a guided observation through telescopes. Depending on the season and sky conditions, you may see planets, double stars, open and globular clusters, nebulae and other deep-sky objects.

    Note: the tour is subject to weather and visibility conditions and may be cancelled when the sky is not suitable for observation.

    About 7 km north of San Pedro de Atacama is the Observatory.

    We will begin with an explanation of the fascinating world of astronomy. Once ready, we will immerse ourselves in the observation of the night sky. The conditions in northern Chile will provide us with an impressive view from the very beginning.

    With the help of a telescope, we will embark on a journey to observe various deep-sky objects. Depending on the time of year, we will have the opportunity to see planets, open clusters, globular clusters, double stars, nebulae, and much more.
