1. Day 01

   Cusco – Cachora – Chiquisca

   • •Steep descent: Downhill hike to the Chiquisca campsite (1,930 m), where we will spend the night.

2. Day 02

   Chiquisca – Playa Rosalina – Marampata – Choquequirao

   • •Maximum altitude: 3,033 m
   • •Trekking duration: 7–8 hours
   • •Descent to the Apurímac River, arriving at Playa Rosalina (1,500 m a.s.l.).
   • •River crossing and start of the demanding ascent to Marampata (2,850 m).
   • •From Marampata, spectacular views of Choquequirao can be enjoyed.
   • •Easier hike from Marampata to the campsite near the Choquequirao archaeological site (3,033 m).
   • •Incredible sunset with views of the Inca complex.
   • •Camp near Choquequirao
3. Day 03

   Visit to Choquequirao – San Ignacio – Carmen Huerto

   • •Maximum altitude: 2,000 m
   • •Trekking duration: 5–6 hours
   • •Early guided visit to Choquequirao, considered the “sacred sister of Machu Picchu”.
   • •Exploration of temples, terraces, canals, and Inca agricultural platforms.
   • •Then, descent towards the Apurímac River via a less-traveled route.
   • •Arrival at San Ignacio (1,500 m), river crossing, and a new ascent to Carmen Huerto (2,000 m).
   • •Camp among the high jungle vegetation.
   • •Camp in Carmen Huerto
4. Day 04

   Carmen Huerto – Tambo Bamba – Huanipaca – Cusco

   • •Maximum altitude: 3,150 m
   • •Trekking duration: 5 hours
   • •Hike to Hacienda Tambo Bamba (2,500 m), surrounded by agricultural landscapes and forests.
   • •Pass through Andean communities such as Pacobamba and Huanipaca (3,150 m).
   • •From Huanipaca, return by private vehicle to Cusco.
   • •Optional stop at the Cconoc hot springs (if the group wishes).
   • •Return to Cusco by transport in the afternoon.

  DAY 1Cusco – Cachora – Capuliyoc Pass – Chiquisca

  We depart very early from your hotel in Cusco to reach the picturesque village of Cachora (2,850 m). There we will meet the muleteer team, who will carry the camping equipment. We will begin the hike with a moderate ascent to Capuliyoc Pass (2,800 m), where views of the Apurímac Canyon and the impressive snow-capped Padreyoc Mountain will accompany us.

  Then we will descend along the mountainside until we reach the campsite in Chiquisca (1,930 m).

  DAY 2Chiquisca – Playa Rosalina – Marampata – Choquequirao

  After breakfast, we will begin the descent to Playa Rosalina (about 1 hour), reaching approximately 1,500 m, on the banks of the Apurímac River. From there, we will start the steep ascent along trails toward Marampata (2,850 m), with changing landscapes and intense heat during the climb.

  Finally, we will reach the campsite near the archaeological complex of Choquequirao (3,033 m). On this night, the sunsets over Choquequirao and the majestic flight of the condor descending from the nearby mountains will be unforgettable moments.

  • Approximately 7 hours of hiking are expected.
  • Weather: cold and warm.
  • Camp: Choquequirao Archaeological Site.

  DAY 3Choquequirao – San Ignacio – Carmen Huerto

  You will wake up with the sunrise over the ruins of Choquequirao. After the guided tour of the archaeological complex (temples, terraces, ceremonial plazas, and landscapes), we will take a less-traveled alternative path to descend to San Ignacio (approximately 1,500 m).

  Then the route ascends to Carmen Huerto (2,000 m), crossing fascinating views of the Apurímac Canyon, tropical mountain vegetation, and the freshness of the cloud forest.

  • This stage takes around 5 hours of hiking.
  • Weather: warm with moderate heat and mosquitoes

  DAY 4Carmen Huerto – Hacienda Tambo Bamba – Huanipaca – Cusco

  In this final stage, we will walk from Carmen Huerto to Hacienda Tambo Bamba (2,500 m), visiting communities such as Pacobamba and Huanipaca (3,150 m). Along the route, we can admire the impressive snow-capped peaks of the Vilcabamba mountain range, such as Sacsarayoc.

  After approximately 5 hours of hiking, transport will take us back to Cusco, concluding the adventure.

  On the return journey, some routes offer an optional stop at the Cconoc hot springs to relax the legs and celebrate the achievement.

  • This stage takes around 5 hours of hiking.
  • Weather: moderate and warm.
