Itinerary

Itinerary

  • 1

At the scheduled time, pick-up from the airport and transfer to your selected hotel. Then, you will enjoy a short orientation walk through the historic center, calmly exploring colonial squares and streets to identify key points, take your first photos, and adjust to the travel pace.

This initial journey is an essential part of the Cusco 5-day itinerary, specifically designed to reduce the impact of altitude change before more demanding activities in the following days. A slow start helps travelers adapt better and enjoy the rest of the program more comfortably.

If you wish, you may take an optional City Tour, visiting:

    • Temple of the Sun – Qoricancha
    • Sacsayhuamán, the most impressive fortress in Cusco
    • Q’enqo, ceremonial center
    • Puka Pukara and Tambomachay, sacred Inca fountains

At the end of the day, you will have free time for dinner and rest.

After an early breakfast at the hotel, your guide will pick you up between 6:30 and 6:45 a.m. to begin a fascinating journey into the heart of the Sacred Valley. This early departure optimizes the day and allows you to enjoy better views and weather conditions.

    First stop: Maras

We head to the picturesque colonial town of Maras, located at 3,300 m.a.s.l. From this natural viewpoint, you can enjoy spectacular views of the Urubamba mountain range, including the snow-capped peaks of La Verónica and Chikón. In Maras, besides the landscape, you will visit its unique adobe church, a remarkable example of local religious architecture housing valuable paintings from the Cusco School. This early introduction provides historical and visual context for the Maras Moray tour.

    Second stop: Moray

Just a short distance away, we continue to Moray, an extraordinary archaeological site in the Andean region. It features massive natural depressions transformed into circular agricultural terraces with advanced irrigation systems. These terraces, located at around 3,500 meters above sea level, demonstrate the Incas’ sophisticated knowledge of microclimates and crop adaptation, reinforcing the educational and cultural value of your Cusco itinerary.

Return to Cusco around 2:00 p.m., followed by free afternoon for personal activities.

    Breakfast at the hotel.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour is one of the most complete and representative journeys in the Cusco region, combining Andean landscapes, highly significant archaeological sites, and living communities that preserve ancestral traditions. This tour naturally connects the history of the Inca Empire with present-day life in the Sacred Valley.

The first visit is Pisac, known for its archaeological complex located high on the mountain and its traditional artisan market. From the Inca terraces, you can enjoy panoramic views of the valley, while the market offers an excellent opportunity to discover local products, textiles, and handicrafts made by nearby communities. Pisac helps visitors understand the agricultural, ceremonial, and urban organization of Inca culture.

    Lunch in Urubamba

Later, the tour continues to Ollantaytambo, one of the most important and best-preserved Inca fortresses in Peru. This site stands out for its massive terraces, finely carved stone temples, and strategic military location. Unlike other archaeological sites, Ollantaytambo is still a living town, where original Inca streets, canals, and houses are still in use, offering a unique and authentic cultural experience.

It also allows you to decide whether to spend the night in the Sacred Valley or continue to Cusco, depending on your chosen Machu Picchu itinerary.

    Accommodation: Hotel in Aguas Calientes

Includes: Breakfast, guide, entrance fees, lunch.

    Breakfast at the hotel.

After a light breakfast at the hotel in Aguas Calientes, the journey begins for a well-organized and complete experience of Machu Picchu.

At the previously coordinated time, we head to the bus station to begin the ascent to the citadel via the official route. The winding road through the high jungle and mist-covered mountains builds anticipation for the unique experience ahead.

Upon arrival at the entrance of the Historic Sanctuary, tickets and documents are checked. We then begin a guided tour through the main archaeological sectors, including the viewpoint, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Intihuatana, the Main Square, and other important ceremonial and residential areas. Throughout the visit, the guide provides clear and detailed explanations about the history, architecture, and spiritual significance of this Inca heritage site, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Optionally, visitors may hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (subject to availability and additional cost), offering a more adventurous experience with stunning panoramic views of the archaeological complex.

After the visit, we descend by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time for lunch, rest, or exploring the town, visiting the local market or strolling through its streets.

In the afternoon, we board the train back to Ollantaytambo (approx. 1 hour and 45 minutes). Upon arrival, our representative will be waiting to transfer you back to Cusco.
