  1. Day 01

    Iquitos – Bora Community – Amazon Lodge

    Arrive in Iquitos and travel by boat along the Nanay and Momón rivers toward the lodge. Along the way, visit a Bora community to learn about its traditions, dances and handicrafts, and enjoy panoramic views of the Amazon River from a local viewpoint.

    After lunch, take part in a traditional fishing activity. In the evening, join a guided night walk to look for insects, small reptiles and other nocturnal wildlife.

  2. Day 02

    Yanayacu – Amazon River

    Begin the day with a birdwatching excursion, followed by an ethnobotanical walk to discover medicinal plants and some of the rainforest’s most representative trees.

    In the afternoon, visit a traditional sugarcane mill, enjoy the scenery of the Amazon River and navigate in search of pink and grey river dolphins. The day ends with a night boat ride along José Caño Creek.

  3. Day 03

    Yanayacu River – Monkey Island

    Enjoy a full-day expedition along the Yanayacu River to Monkey Island, where you can learn about different primate species and explore the biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest.

    On the return journey, visit a riverside community to discover its daily life and traditions. In the evening, local guides will share stories and legends inspired by Amazonian mythology.

  4. Day 04

    Wildlife Sanctuary – Fundo Pedrito – Iquitos

    After breakfast, visit a wildlife rescue center to see species such as anacondas, turtles, sloths and tropical birds.

    After lunch, continue to Fundo Pedrito, where you can observe giant water lilies and aquatic species such as arapaima, caimans and piranhas. Finally, return to Iquitos for your transfer to the hotel or airport.

    A representative from our travel agency will welcome you at the Iquitos International Airport, assist you, and transfer you to our office in Iquitos.

    There, you will receive a brief introduction about the itinerary, our services, what you should and should not do in the rainforest, as well as some important tips.

    After a short wait, you will be transferred to the Nanay Pier, where we will board one of our typical boats called Pamacari, which will take you to the lodge. Depending on the river season, the transfer may also be done by speedboat.

    Along the route upstream on the Nanay River and the Momon River, both tributaries of the Amazon River, we will visit the Bora Native Community, where we will have the opportunity to share their customs, dances, and traditional handicrafts.

    Then, we will continue our fantastic adventure until we reach the tourist viewpoint, a 30-meter-high tower built on the highest part of a hill in the Independence community. From there, we will be able to admire the majestic Amazon River in all its splendor.

    Upon arrival at the lodge, you will be welcomed with a natural fruit drink. Your expert guide will give you a brief orientation about the lodge before you settle into your room. Then, we will enjoy lunch.

    Afterward, we will begin an artisanal fishing tour, where experienced fishing lovers will feel the excitement of catching piranhas and other varieties of fish. Later, we will return to the lodge for dinner.

    At night, the most adventurous travelers will have the opportunity to join a night walk around the lodge to search for and observe tarantulas, fireflies, small caimans, and other nocturnal species of the Amazon.

    At dawn, we will begin our birdwatching tour along the banks of the Yanayacu River and the nearby plantations. Here, we may observe species such as the Tuki-Tuki or wattled jacana, the kingfisher, and the black-collared hawk. After the activity, we will return to the lodge for breakfast.

    Later, we will start an ethnobotanical walk of approximately 2 hours, accompanied by expert guides. During this experience, we will identify medicinal plants such as cat’s claw, dragon’s blood, and copaiba oil, as well as giant trees like the Lupuna, also known as Ceiba Pentandra, whose enormous trunk can require more than 25 people to surround it.

    Along the trail, we may also find the famous Tarzan vines, adding a touch of jungle adventure to the walk.

    Afterward, we will return to the lodge for lunch.

    At the scheduled time, we will visit the sugarcane mill in San Juan de Huashalado, where you will learn how the region’s traditional alcoholic drinks are made and have the opportunity to taste them.

    Just 10 minutes from the village, you will find the majestic Amazon River, where you can swim in its warm waters and enjoy the spectacular scenery.

    During the summer season, we may also enjoy a natural mud treatment on the banks of the Amazon River. On small river islands, you can experience a refreshing swim and a mud treatment for the skin, a natural spa experience offered by the rainforest. Do not forget your swimsuit.

    Later, we will go in search of pink and gray river dolphins. These beautiful dolphins can be observed along the Amazon River, where you will be able to appreciate their elegance in their natural environment.

    After dinner, we will begin an interesting night boat ride along José Caño Creek, where we will enjoy the magical sounds of the rainforest and, under the moonlight, observe the constellations.

    We will then return to the lodge, where you will have free time to enjoy an exotic drink at our bar.

    After breakfast, we will begin our full-day jungle adventure. We will sail along the Yanayacu River until we reach one of the branches of the Amazon River and visit Monkey Island, where the monkeys will be waiting to interact, play, and capture a little of your attention.

    Here, we will be able to observe at least 7 species of monkeys up close. We will spend the day exploring the flora and fauna of the area and taking part in different activities. Our guide will coordinate lunch, which may be served in the home of a local resident or in a jungle-style camp.

    On the way back, we will begin a vivential tourism experience, visiting a riverside village to learn about the customs and traditions of the local people.

    Later, we will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

    At night, we will enjoy a special experience of legends and stories based on Amazonian mythology, shared by our guides.

    After breakfast, we will visit a rescue center known as the Animal Sanctuary, where you will have the opportunity to see the famous anaconda, the largest aquatic boa on the planet, as well as the matamata turtle, the sloth, and exotic bird species such as toucans, macaws, and others.

    We will then return to the lodge for our farewell lunch and proceed with check-out. Afterward, we will depart for Fundo Pedrito, where we will observe the famous Victoria Regia, the largest ornamental plant in the Amazon.

    You will also have the opportunity to see and feed paiche fish, caimans, and piranhas.

    Finally, we will return to the city of Iquitos.
