  1. Day 01

    Iquitos – Nauta – Buenos Aires Community

    Travel from Iquitos to Nauta and continue by boat toward the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Along the way, enjoy the Amazonian scenery and look for pink river dolphins, birds, turtles and other wildlife.

    After arriving at the Buenos Aires community, take a walk through the primary rainforest and join a night excursion to discover the animals that become active after sunset.

  2. Day 2

    Pacaya Samiria National Reserve

    Explore small rivers, lagoons and jungle trails accompanied by a local guide. Throughout the day, you may spot monkeys, birds, turtles and other Amazonian species in their natural habitat.

    The experience includes boat rides, rainforest walks and an overnight stay surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.

  3. Day 03

    After breakfast, enjoy one final boat trip across an Amazonian lagoon, with the chance to observe hoatzins and other native birds.

    Return to the Buenos Aires community, continue to Nauta and finish the tour with a transfer to Iquitos or the airport.

    In the morning, a representative from our agency will pick you up from your hotel or the airport. We will travel south in our tourist transportation for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes until we reach the town of Nauta.

    On the way, we will provide a brief introduction to Iquitos, its surroundings, and its main attractions.

    We will depart by private boat from the port of Nauta and continue upstream for about 3 hours, enjoying beautiful landscapes and the possibility of observing gray and pink river dolphins, herons, turtles, and other species.

    We will arrive at the community of Santo Domingo, our entry point to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Here, we will obtain our entrance permit.

    Then, we will continue navigating by boat for approximately 30 minutes until we reach the Buenos Aires community.

    After arrival, we will take an expedition walk through the primary rainforest, enjoying nature while searching for wildlife.

    At night, we will go on a guided walk in search of spiders, snakes, lizards, frogs, and rodents, while listening to the different sounds of nocturnal animals that inhabit the jungle.

    After breakfast, we will set out in a peque-peque, a traditional small motorboat, along a narrow river. During the journey, we may observe several species of monkeys, turtles, birds, and possibly even tapirs, capybaras, peccaries, and white-lipped peccaries.

    We will arrive at the camping and accommodation area, where we will enjoy lunch.

    Later, we will take a walk along the trails surrounding a cocha, or lake. During the excursion, there may be opportunities to observe nocturnal birds along the way.

    In the evening, we will have dinner and spend the night at the Refuge of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

    After breakfast, we will depart by boat to visit one last lagoon, where it may be possible to observe prehistoric-looking birds such as the hoatzin and the horned screamer.

    Afterward, we will return to the Buenos Aires community.

    Lunch will be served at the agreed time.

    Then, we will return to the city of Nauta.

    Finally, we will transfer back to Iquitos or to the airport.
