During the bus trip, you will visit the Church of Andahuaylillas, famous for its colonial murals and known as the Sistine Chapel of America. Then, you will explore the Raqchi Archaeological Complex, where the remains of the temple dedicated to the god Wiracocha are still preserved. Later, you will cross the La Raya Pass, the highest point of the route, with spectacular views of the mountain range. Finally, you will arrive at the Pukara Lithic Museum, which preserves sculptures and ceramics from an ancient highland culture.     Cusco – Route of the Sun – Puno

    Travel from Cusco to Puno aboard a comfortable tourist bus along the famous Route of the Sun, a scenic journey combining Andean landscapes, Inca history and colonial art. The first stop is Andahuaylillas, home to the richly decorated Church of San Pedro Apóstol, often called the Sistine Chapel of the Andes.

    Continue to the Raqchi Archaeological Complex, an important Inca site dedicated to the god Wiracocha. After a buffet lunch in Sicuani, visit La Raya Pass, the highest point of the route, offering impressive views of the Peruvian highlands and the snow-capped Chimboya Mountain.

    Before arriving in Puno, explore the Pukara Lithic Museum and learn about one of the oldest cultures of the Andean plateau. Arrival in Puno is scheduled for the late afternoon.

    The tour begins at the private bus terminal in Cusco. Ticket and luggage check-in starts at 6:40 a.m., with a punctual departure at 7:00 a.m. toward Puno.

    During the journey, we will visit Andahuaylillas, home to the Church of San Pedro Apóstol, known as the Sistine Chapel of the Andes for its murals, colonial paintings, and gold leaf details. Photography is not allowed inside the church.

    We will then continue to Raqchi, an important Inca archaeological complex dedicated to the god Wiracocha. Here, you can admire stone and adobe walls, as well as ancient colcas used as storage buildings.

    At midday, we will stop in Sicuani to enjoy a buffet lunch at the tourist restaurant La Pascana. Drinks are not included.

    After lunch, we will arrive at the La Raya Pass, the highest point of the journey, located at 4,335 meters above sea level. From here, you can enjoy high-Andean landscapes and views of the snow-capped Chimboya mountain. This stop is brief, so we recommend bringing warm clothing.

    The last visit will be to the Pukara Lithic Museum, where we will learn about ceramic pieces and sculptures from one of the oldest cultures of the highlands. The entrance fee is approximately S/ 10.00.

    Arrival in Puno is scheduled for around 5:00 p.m. at the private terminal located at Avenida Costanera 430.
