    Colca Canyon Full-Day Tour Overview

    Discover one of southern Peru’s most impressive landscapes on our Colca Canyon Full-Day Tour from Arequipa. The experience begins with a scenic journey to Chivay, the gateway to the Colca Valley, where you will enjoy breakfast before continuing the route.

    The highlight of the tour is the visit to the Condor Cross viewpoint, one of the best places to admire the depth of the canyon and watch the Andean condor in flight. You will also visit the traditional villages of Maca and Yanque and see the ancient agricultural terraces that shape the valley.

    Before returning to Arequipa, you can relax in the La Calera hot springs and enjoy a buffet lunch in Chivay. This tour is ideal for travelers who want to experience the Colca Canyon in one day.

    We begin the Colca Full Day tour with pick-up from your hotel at 3:30 a.m. to start our journey toward the impressive Colca Canyon in Arequipa.

    After an approximately three-hour drive from Arequipa to Chivay, we will arrive in the town of Chivay, where we will take a break to enjoy breakfast. Chivay is the main gateway to the Colca Valley in Arequipa.

    We will continue our route for about 30 minutes toward the Cruz del Cóndor, a privileged viewpoint where you can admire the grandeur of the Colca Canyon and the spectacular flight of the Andean condor. This is the most photographed spot in the Colca Canyon.

    We will spend around 45 minutes in the area and take a 30-minute walk to appreciate the impressive terraces of the Colca Valley up close. The average altitude is 3,600 meters above sea level, so we recommend prior acclimatization.

    On our way back through the Colca Canyon, we will make stops in the charming towns of Maca and Yanque, where you can learn more about the local culture of the Colca Valley. These towns are an essential part of the Colca Canyon experience.

    Before lunch, we will have the opportunity to relax in the La Calera hot springs in Chivay, enjoying their medicinal waters for approximately one hour. These thermal baths are one of the most valued attractions in the Colca Canyon.

    Afterward, we will return to Chivay to enjoy a buffet lunch featuring the best of Andean cuisine. Colca, Arequipa is known for its traditional dishes prepared with local ingredients.

    Finally, we will begin our return journey to the city of Arequipa as part of this Full-Day Colca Canyon Tour, arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m.
