What is this route like?

The designed route of circuit 2 combines views of the site with a walk through archaeological sectors of Machu Picchu. It is a balanced option for a first visit if you want scenery and a closer look inside part of the city.

The mapped trail passes areas such as the Temple of the Sun viewpoint, the Temple Square and the Sacred Rock. Seeing a building from the route does not mean you may enter it: always follow the marked access points.

What the route includes

  • A panoramic perspective from the route 2-A trail.
  • Archaeological sectors, squares and paths shown on the map.
  • Passage through the Sacred Rock area and the eastern sectors of the route.

What this route does not include

  • Machupicchu Mountain and Waynapicchu.
  • Intipunku, the Inka Bridge, the Great Cavern and Huchuypicchu.

Before you choose
your ticket

Compare the trail with route 2-B: both belong to the Classic circuit. Route 2-A is not a ticket with unrestricted access to every building.

On the official TuBoleto platform, select circuit 2 and check code 2-A, the date and entry time before paying. Also check age restrictions and the documents required for your fare.

Admission to the archaeological site and train, bus or guide services are arranged separately unless your booking explicitly includes them. If the route includes a mountain, also confirm its checkpoint entry time when planning the rest of your day.
