What is this route like?

Route 3-D combines the lower sector of Machu Picchu with the ascent to Huchuypicchu. This mountain has its own itinerary and should not be confused with Waynapicchu, accessed on route 3-A.

Although shorter than Waynapicchu, the climb still involves elevation changes and steps. The view from Huchuypicchu also does not replace the perspective from the upper terraces of circuit 1.

What the route includes

  • The Royalty circuit section marked on route 3-D.
  • Ascent and descent along the Huchuypicchu trail.

What this route does not include

  • The Waynapicchu climb and Great Cavern visit.
  • The upper terraces and Machupicchu Mountain.

Before you choose
your ticket

Check seasonal opening and age conditions on the official ticket platform before booking. Do not assume it has the same conditions as route 3-B.

On the official TuBoleto platform, select circuit 3 and check code 3-D, the date and entry time before paying. Also check age restrictions and the documents required for your fare.

Admission to the archaeological site and train, bus or guide services are arranged separately unless your booking explicitly includes them. If the route includes a mountain, also confirm its checkpoint entry time when planning the rest of your day.
