  1. Day 01

    Puerto Maldonado – Amazon Lodge – Caiman Lagoon

    Arrive in Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the port to begin a boat journey along the Lower Madre de Dios River toward the lodge. During the trip, enjoy the Amazonian scenery and look for birds, turtles, caimans and other wildlife.

    After lunch, take a guided nature walk to Caiman Lagoon, where you may observe black and white caimans. The day ends with a beautiful sunset by the river and time to relax at the lodge.

  2. Day 02

    Lake Sandoval – Puerto Maldonado

    After breakfast, begin an approximately 3-kilometer hike to Lake Sandoval, located within the Tambopata National Reserve.

    Explore the lake in a traditional rowing boat while looking for monkeys, birds, caimans and, with some luck, endangered giant river otters in their natural habitat. Afterwards, return to the lodge for lunch before travelling back to Puerto Maldonado.

    Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, the Capital of Biodiversity of Peru, a representative from our company will give you a warm welcome.

    Then, we will head to Puerto Capitanía to board a motorized boat and navigate along the Lower Madre de Dios River.

    During the journey, we will enjoy a fascinating natural environment. With some luck, we may observe capybaras, caimans, turtles, herons, and cormorants in their natural habitat.

    Upon arrival at our lodge, you will be welcomed with a refreshing nectar made from tropical Amazonian fruits and escorted to your comfortable room or bungalow. You will have free time to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

    Afterward, you will enjoy a delicious lunch in our rustic-style dining room. Then, our guide will lead you along a marked interpretive trail toward Cocha Caimán. There, you may spot black caimans and white caimans, emblematic species of the region.

    In the afternoon, after returning to the lodge, you will enjoy a spectacular Amazonian sunset from the riverbank. The colors of the sky create an unforgettable landscape.

    At night, a delicious dinner will be waiting for you. Afterward, you may share unforgettable moments at our bar, equipped with board games and a wide variety of drinks.

    The first day of the Lake Sandoval Tour ends with an overnight stay at the lodge.

    We will wake up early to enjoy a nutritious breakfast and get ready for an exciting 3 km trek to Lake Sandoval.

    This lake, one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve, is home to a great diversity of wildlife, including piranhas.

    Here, we will take a rowing boat tour. During the ride, we will observe different species of birds and monkeys in their natural habitat.

    With some luck, we may see a giant otter, an endangered species, as well as caimans resting along the shores.

    Then, we will return to the lodge to enjoy a farewell lunch and prepare for the return trip to Puerto Maldonado.

    The Lake Sandoval Tour ends here, but the experience and memories of the Amazon will remain forever.
