Where is localized the city of Lima?
Lima is the capital of Peru. It is located on the central coast of the country, on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, flanked by the coastal desert and spread over the valleys of the rivers Chillón, Rímac and Lurín.

Jorge Chávez International Airport is the main airport in Peru and is located in the Constitutional Province of Callao, close to the port and 10 kilometres from the centre of Lima.
According to INEI estimates, the province of Lima has 9,674,755 inhabitants, representing 29.7% of Peru’s total population.
Climate
The central Peruvian coast shows a series of atypical microclimates due to the influential and cold Humboldt current that derives from Antarctica, the proximity of the Andes mountain range and its geographical location, giving Lima a subtropical climate, cool, desert-like and humid at the same time.

The city of Lima reaches an altitude of 101 meters above sea level.

The coldest months are the winter months of July, August and September, when average maximum temperatures do not exceed 19°C.

The climate in Lima is very pleasant and cool, so any time of the year is a good time to visit the city.

The city of Lima has more than 100 beaches of which I will mention a few.
This beautiful seaside resort is one of the favourite places to escape from routine. Due to the splendid natural scenery it shows as a whole it is considered a family destination par excellence.
- El Silencio Beach – located in the South Lima: considered one of the best beaches, thanks to its wide bay of white sand and perfect waters to practice water sports.
- Embajadores Beach – located in Santa María – South Lima: it is a quiet beach with soft waters, perfect to spend an unforgettable day with family, friends etc.
- Waikiki Beach – located in Costa Verde – Lima: One of the favourite beaches for surfers thanks to its good waves that allow better manoeuvres.
- Playa La Isla – located in Lima Norte – Barranca.
- El Puerto Beach – Located in North Lima – Barranca.

*Chancay Castle
Located an hour and a half north of Lima, in the town of Chancay, it is considered one of the most visited attractions in the Norte Chico.
The place offers live music and dances, themed stories for children and the whole family, medieval style presentations and contests for the public.
*Callao
Peru’s most important port has a great number of attractions you can visit. Among them, the fortress of Real Felipe, the Naval Museum, installed in the submarine Abtao.
*Chinatown
Lima’s Chinatown is located right next to the historic centre, in the district of Barrios Altos. Chinatown is not very big, and is mainly centred on a single street, Calle Capon.
*Kennedy Park
The Parque Central in the heart of the Miraflores district.
Surrounded by shops, cafes and important avenues such as Diagonal, José Larco and José Pardo.
*Larcomar
This shopping mall is one of the most popular tourist attractions for travellers visiting Lima. Located on the Miraflores Malecon, a few blocks from the Parque del Amor, it is one of the most pleasant districts of Lima.
*Barranco
Barranco has an excellent history in its streets and a dazzling art scene. At night, Barranco becomes the life of the party in Lima, with great restaurants and themed bars; perfect for all visitors.
One of the highlights of this district is the well-known, Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs); this iconic bridge is one of the places to visit in Lima.

The reserve park is a beautiful park to visit during the day, but at night, it is simply magical. Once night falls, the lights come on and together with the fountains, present a spectacle never to be forgotten.
