Location
The Peruvian city of Arequipa is located at an altitude of 2,335 meters above sea level, it is the second most populated city in the country, considered the legal capital of Peru.

History
The city was founded on 15th August 1540, under the name of “Villa Hermosa de Nuestra Señora de la Asunta” in the name of the Marquis Don Francisco Pizarro and on 22nd September 1541 the monarch Carlos V in a Royal Decree ordered it to be called “Ciudad de Arequipa” (City of Arequipa).

Climate
Arequipa’s climate is temperate, desert-like with moderate thermal amplitude. The sky is cloudy in the afternoon and with few clouds in the morning and moderate incidence of solar radiation.
The summer, from December to March, is known as the wet season, with more clouds, some rain, higher humidity and average minimum temperatures of 10 ºC and average maximum temperatures of 20 ºC.

The white city of Arequipa is surrounded by 3 volcanoes, among them the Misti Volcano, which means “Great Lord”, with a height of 5,820 metres. On the sides are the volcanoes Chachani and Pichu Pichu.

The volcano is the most striking feature of the city of Arequipa, Misti is the most distinctive of the three snow-capped mountains that surround the city.

It is located on the top of a mountain, on the way to the Colca Canyon, so we will find the stone forest of Choqolaqa.
The stone forest has a surface of 25 hectares, it is at 5200 m.a.s.l. known as new Arequipa.
Colca Canyon
It is located in the province of Caylloma, in the valley of a river of the south of Peru, the Colca Canyon has a depth of 4160 m, considered the fourth deepest of the planet.
It is a habitat of the giant Andean condor, which can be seen from the viewpoint, as the condor’s cross.
The canyon landscape encompasses a green valley and remote traditional villages with terraced agriculture that predated the Incas.
The mountainous landscapes occur from 3000 m.a.s.l. to 5000 m.a.s.l. with steep slopes.
