Itinerary
At the previously agreed-upon time, we will pick you up from your hotel in order to start the tour through the City of Puno.
Puno Cathedral
Firstly we will visit the Cathedral of Puno which was built in the 18th century, by the Peruvian builder Simón de Asto, whose name is inscribed on the door. His style is baroque and constitutes an example of local mestizo architecture. You will have a guided tour through this masterpiece of Peruvian architecture while getting all the necessary background information.
Balcony of Conde de Lemos
Secondly, we will visit the intersection of the streets Deustua and Conde de Lemos. Entry is not allowed, it is said that the viceroy of the same name stayed in this house upon his arrival in Puno.
Dreyel Municipal Museum
Thirdly, we will visit the Dreyel municipal museum in order to see its extraordinary collection of ceramics, goldsmiths, textiles, and pre-Inca and Inca lithic sculptures. It also has a collection of numismatics and documents on the history of the Spanish founding of the city of Puno.
Cerro Huajsapata
As our fourth stop we will visit the mountain or “Cerro Huajsapata”, it is located four blocks west of the main square. On top of its summit is the monument to Manco Cápac. From there, you can appreciate a beautiful panoramic view of the city of Puno and Lake Titicaca.
Arco Deustua
As our fifth stop, we will visit the “Arco Deustua” which is located north of the city. It is a stone monument surrounded by pillars distributed in two semicircles, through viewpoints, and erected in honor of the patriots who died in the battles of Junín and Ayacucho. Views of the city like; the Cerrito de Huajsapata and the Puma Uta, with a colourful view of the city and the Bay of Puno and the Peninsulas of Capachica and Chucuito.
Museo – Barco Yavari
Our sixth and last stop will be the museum of the ship of Yavari which is anchored on the shores of Titicaca. It is 3km from the city center in front of the Hotel Sonesta Posada del Inca. It contains an important piece from the Iron Age, considered the only English piece that still retains its historical and original originality, which was brought over the southern Andes on the back of a mule in 1862.

It is the capital of Peruvian folklore; its inhabitants love to dance. Its festival of the Virgin of Candelaria that is celebrated every year on February 9, where all its dance groups in the city go out to dance doing a parade through Puno.
It was declared Cultural Heritage by Unesco in 2014. The City of Puno is the starting point to visit Lake Titicaca, the floating islands of the Uros, Taquilla Island and Amantaní Island.
The City of Puno, was dominated by Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, it is the capital of Peruvian folklore; Likewise, legend has it that everything started in Puno. That its lake saw the emergence of Manco Cápac and Mama Ocllo, founders of the Inca empire.
THE CATHEDRAL OF PUNO
The Cathedral of Puno is the main Baroque cathedral in the city of the same name. The Cathedral of Puno is beautifully decorated, although the interior is relatively simple and is owned by the Catholic Church.
Did you know that the Cathedral of Puno is known as the Cathedral Basilica of San Carlos Borromeo, which is used very little, This cathedral was built in 1757 and is part of the Andean baroque school of architecture, a style that was frequently adopted in the mountainous regions of South America.
THE FESTIVAL OF THE VIRGIN OF CANDELARIA
This festival is held every year in the city of Puno, which is located in the southeast of Peru at an altitude of 3820 meters above sea level.
Considered as the Folk Capital of Peru and America; Puno is famous for its varied and imposing cultural manifestation, whose maximum expression is the festival of the Virgen de la Candelaria, also known as “Mamacha Candelaria”, as it is the patron saint of the City of Puno, related to the cult of the land or ” Pachamama ”that symbolizes purity and fertility.
