Uros and Taquile – Full-Day Tour

Visit the world-renowned Titicaca Lake and discover the mind-blowing Islands, Uros and Taquile, that were built by their inhabitants only out of water reeds!

These Islands are artisanal handicraft masterpieces, floating on the largest navigable high-altitude lake in the world. Their secluded location allowed them to foster very particular customs and unique cultures, that they are willing to share with you on this tour. Not without reason did their textile craft receive the UNESCO title of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Come and explore the famous Uros and Taquile Islands of the Titicaca lake. Learn about their particular cultures, customs, and masterful weaving art while enjoying some of the most beautiful sights of the surrounding high-altitude Andean landscape.

The Uros Islands are made up of some 80 artificial islands, which are usually the first stop when visiting Lake Titicaca. Its inhabitants are considered to be the oldest in the area and were originally nomadic people who came from Bolivia.

The Uros Islands are built by their own inhabitants with “totora” or water reeds that grow in the lake. It takes them about a year to build one island, and they usually last about 30-40 years. They also use the same water reeds for their boats.

Super recomendo a Dreamy Tours, simpáticos, atenciosos... Só tenho que agradecer a agência. A Dreamy preparou os passeios em Cuzco: Maras Moray, Vale Sagrado, Trem para Machu Picchu, Machu Picchu, Montanha de 7 Cores, City Tour em Cuzco. e em Lima, Translado até Nazca em carro particular, Voo para ver as linhas de Nazca, Ica, Huacachina, Ilha Ballestas, Vinhedo Ica e retorno até LIma.Sensacional todos os passeios.. Novamente super recomendo a agência.
