Itinerary

Day 01: Uros Island + Taquile

Your adventure begins in Puno, the gateway to Lake Titicaca. You will be met by our staff, and you will embark on a boat trip to the legendary Uros Islands.

Here, you’ll see the incredible ability of the locals to build floating islands using TOTORA, an aquatic plant. You’ll meet local native communities and learn about their customs, crafts and their unique way of life.

We’ll continue our tour towards Taquile Island, which is famous for its deep cultural heritage and high-quality traditional textiles. Explore its trails, visit local communities and admire the handicrafts of the inhabitants of Taquile.

Lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savour fresh trout, a local delicacy.

At sunset, you’ll head to one of the Uros islands, where you’ll spend an unforgettable night. You’ll dine with the locals and immerse yourself in their fascinating culture.

Day 02: Uros Island – return to Puno City

Lake Titicaca, located at an altitude of 3,800 meters above sea level in the Andes, is the highest navigable lake in the world and a unique place to explore.

  1. Uros Island: On this island, you will live the experience of visiting the famous Uros Floating Islands, which are made of reeds, an aquatic plant. The Uros build and maintain these floating islands by hand. You will learn about their lifestyle, their culture and how they use reeds to create their homes, boats and other daily needs.
  2. Taquile Island: This island is known for its indigenous community that has maintained its textile and cultural traditions for centuries. You will have the opportunity to interact with the local inhabitants and learn about their way of life, their weavings and their traditional food. The island hike offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
  3. Night on a Floating Island: For an even more authentic experience, you can spend a night on one of the floating islands.
