Not included in the tourist ticket
If you are preparing the budget for your trip to Cusco, you have to know that there are some important places in the Inca capital and the Sacred Valley that are not included in the tourist ticket. There are actually several sites that are not included, but these are the three most important:
The cathedral of Cusco: whether you like the churches or not, I recommend you visit the cathedral located in the Plaza de Armas since it is a jewel of colonial architecture with 10 chapels, an impressive main altar with sheets of pure silver, about 400 works of the Cusqueña School and much more. Adults 25 soles, children and students 12.50 soles.
The convent of Santo Domingo: although the Coricancha museum is included in the tourist ticket, the Santo Domingo church that is part of the Coricancha complex is not. Your patio is my favorite part! Entrance 15 soles
The salt mines of Maras: it is my favorite place in the Sacred Valley. There are 3,000 saltwater basins exploited by cooperatives that group about 300 families in the region. Right there you can buy various natural salt-based products, and above all take some spectacular photos! Entrance 15 soles
Is the Cusco Tourist Ticket worth it?
Many tourist ask Is the Cusco Tourist Ticket worth it? Knowing whether or not to buy the tourist ticket will depend on how many places it includes you want to visit. If you come to know the cultural legacy of the Incas, buy it!
As you will see, each circuit has different prices and a different duration. There are cases where is the Cusco Tourist Ticket worth it; for example if you just want to see an attraction or if you know in advance that you will not be able to see everything that it includes. What you will have to do in this case is to buy the partial ticket.
Partial circuit tickets last only one or two days so you should consider whether you can commit to visiting everything that is included in that time.
If, on the other hand, you have come to Cusco to know everything or you want to have a wider margin to visit what you want, do not hesitate to buy the full ticket that includes the three circuits.
