Itinerary
Day 1: Visit to Fundo Pedrito, Ethnobotanical Tour & Nocturnal Boat Ride
A representative of our Travel Agency will welcome you at Iquitos International Airport, where you will be assisted and transferred to our office in Iquitos.
You will be given a short induction about the tour, our services, the do’s and don’ts of the jungle, as well as some important tips.
After a short wait, you will be transferred to the Nanay dock where we will board the typical boats of the jungle called “Pamacari” which will take you to the lodge.
Fundo Pedrito
On the way, we will visit the “Fundo Pedrito” where we can observe the famous victoria regia, the largest ornamental plant in the Amazon, you will have the opportunity to meet and feed the paiches, lizards, and piranhas. Afterwards, we will arrive at the lodge where you will be welcomed with a natural fruit drink.
Our guide will give you a brief orientation of the lodge and then you will be transferred to your room where you can relax until lunch is ready.
Then we will have a delicious lunch at the lodge.
Ethnobotanical Walk
After a short rest, we will start an ethnobotanical walk, for approximately 2 hours accompanied by our expert guides. During the tour, they will teach you how to identify medicinal plants such as cat’s claw, sangre de grado, copaiba oil, and gigantic trees like the Lupuna ́ (Ceiba Pentandra) whose dimensions make it possible for more than 25 people to surround them.
Moreover, you will be able to listen to a vast amount of different bird species such as the Rinahui (Cathaites-Aura) and the Tihuacuro (Monasa-Atia), amongst many others.
After this inspiring and educating walk, we will return to the lodge where we will have a tasty dinner.
Nocturnal Boat Ride
After dinner, we will make a nocturnal boat ride through the creek called “José caño” to enjoy the magical sounds of the jungle at night, observe the business of the wildlife at night and catch some great views of the night sky with some astonishingly good sights of the star constellations.
Hereafter we will head back to the lodge where you can enjoy some free time while we will serve you an exotic drink in our bar.

Day 2: Birdwatching, Fishing Tour & Visit to Monkey Island
Birdwatching
Early in the morning, we start the bird-watching tour to observe the birds that feed on the banks of the Yanayacu River or in the surrounding plantations. We will be able to observe species such as the Tuki (Jacana Jacana), Kingfisher (Ceryle-Torquato), Coto Gavilan or Black-necked Hawk (Busarellus nigricollis).
After the birdwatching, we will return to the lodge for an energizing breakfast.
Artesanal Fishing Tour
Then, we will start the fishing tour where you will be able to observe how the most experienced fishermen will feel the thrill of fishing piranhas (Serraselmus nattereri) and other varieties of fish.
Hereafter we will return to the lodge where we will eat a delicious lunch.
Monkey Island
At the previously agreed-upon time, we will go to visit the “Monkey Island” where endangered species of monkeys of the Peruvian Amazon are being protected. This Island is a family initiative that intends to show its visitors the work that is necessary to achieve the process of reintegration of primates into their natural habitat, as well as the development of their survival instinct in the wild. You will be able to see the different species of monkeys that are completely free in this reserve, yet depending on the successful development of their ability to re-adapt to nature.
Then, we will go in search of Pink and Grey Dolphins (Inia Geoffrensis) and at the same time enjoy a wonderful Amazonian sunset.
Arriving back at the lodge we will have dinner.
In the evening, the more adventurous will have the opportunity to start a night walk around the lodge to look for and observe tarantulas, fireflies, small caimans, and other nocturnal species of our Amazon.

Day 3: Visit to Amazon Trapiche, Amazon river swim & Yaguas Community
Amazon Trapiche
Enjoy an appetizing breakfast before starting our visit to a rustic Amazon “Trapiche” or stamping mill. We will take a boat that will take us to San Juan de Huashalado where we can find one of the last traditional stamping mills. We will be shown how the inhabitants of this area process sugar cane extract using a handmade “trapiche” and fermented sugar cane juice, which after a certain storage time becomes liquor.
Taste the variety of exotic regional drinks made from sugar cane liquor and molasses; you may be even able to purchase a few bottles of this exquisite liquor.
Amazon river swim
10 minutes from the village is the majestic Amazon River where you can swim in its warm waters or simply relax on the shores appreciating the spectacular and unique scenery.
We will return to the lodge for our farewell lunch, proceed to check-out, and depart for a visit to the “Yaguas” ethnic community.
Yaguas Community
This visit will allow you to learn about their ancestral customs, learn about their original clothing styles made out of palm fibres and their typical handicrafts. Furthermore, you will be able to try out their ancestral hunting device called the “Pucuna” which is a blowgun that the Yaguas used with poisoned darts to shoot birds or smaller animals.
Continuing with the tour we will sail to a rescue centre “Animal Sanctuary” where you can meet the famous Anaconda, the largest aquatic boa on the planet, the matamata turtle, sloth bears, and species of exotic birds such as Toucan and parrots, among others.
After this amazing visit, we will start to return to the city of Iquitos where we will drop you off either at the airport or at your hotel.

Also known as, the capital of the Peruvian Amazon, Iquitos is the largest metropolis in the Peruvian jungle, as well as a very important river port. The Pedrito Farm in Iquitos
One of the most important tourist attractions in the city of Iquitos is the Pedrito de Barrio Florido farm, which has spectacular fish farms where the breeding of paiches stands out, a pond with aquatic plants from Victoria Amazonica, fish farms with species of fish such as tarpon, boquichicos, Piranhas, pools with lizards, crocodiles, and boas distributed in an area of three hectares, on the banks of the Amazon River.
