Day 6: Cusco – Sacred Valley Of The Incas – Cusco

The sixth day is a full immersion into the Sacred Valley of the Incas, considered the geographic and spiritual heart of the Tahuantinsuyo, where the combination of privileged climate, exceptional soil fertility, and strategic location made it the empire’s most valued region.

Our tour begins at 7:45 a.m. with hotel pick-up, then we head to the picturesque colonial town of Pisaq, whose mestizo architecture reflects the cultural synthesis of the post-conquest period. This place, rich in history and traditions, holds a bilingual Mass in Spanish and Quechua every Sunday, preserving ancestral customs passed down through generations. The Pisaq archaeological complex features the most extensive and best-preserved Inca agricultural terraces in the entire Sacred Valley, a system of terraces demonstrating Inca mastery in mountain agriculture and sustainable natural resource management in high-altitude ecosystems.
After a buffet lunch prepared with organic ingredients grown in the same valley, we proceed to Ollantaytambo, often referred to as the living Inca city because its original urban layout remains practically intact. This archaeological complex functioned simultaneously as an administrative, religious, military, and agricultural center, representing one of the most complete examples of Inca urban planning still preserved.
At the end of this intensive cultural experience, we board the tourist train to Aguas Calientes, a night journey that positions us perfectly for the culminating moment of the entire experience.

Day 7: Machu Picchu | The Lost City Of The Incas

Today you will experience the most anticipated moment of your adventure: the visit to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Your day begins with an energizing breakfast at the hotel, followed by the ecological bus ascent along the famous zigzag road to the entrance of the citadel. Each curve brings you closer to this archaeological treasure guarded by sacred mountains.
Once at Machu Picchu, your guide will lead you through the main sectors of this Inca masterpiece. You’ll walk through the Temple of the Sun, where golden rays filter through perfectly carved stone windows. You’ll visit the Intihuatana, the mysterious solar clock that connected the Incas with celestial movements, and the Temple of the Three Windows, symbol of the Andean worldview. In the Sacred Plaza, the ceremonial heart of the citadel, you’ll feel the echoes of ancient celebrations that once filled this space with spiritual life.
After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to explore on your own and connect with the ancestral energy of the site. You can photograph the citadel with the imposing Huayna Picchu in the background and find your own spot for quiet contemplation in this historical sanctuary.
Optional: For the more adventurous, there’s the option to hike up Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu at an additional cost of $65.00 USD per ticket, subject to availability. From the top, you’ll get spectacular panoramic views and a unique perspective of the lost citadel.
At the end of this unforgettable experience, you will begin your return to Cusco. The journey starts with the train descent from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, once again enjoying the Andean landscapes unfolding through the windows. Once in Ollantaytambo, a comfortable transport will take you back to Cusco.

Day 8: Route Of The Sun (Cusco – Puno)

Breakfast at the hotel
The eighth day offers an exceptional panoramic journey known as the Route of the Sun, connecting Cusco with Puno through high Andean landscapes among the most spectacular in South America. This approximately eight-hour journey includes strategic stops at sites of historical and cultural relevance, starting with Andahuaylillas, where we’ll visit the colonial church known as the Sistine Chapel of America due to its exceptional baroque murals that fully cover the temple’s interior.
We continue to Raqchi, where the ruins of the Temple of Wiracocha demonstrate the Inca capacity for large-scale construction, with walls originally reaching fifteen meters in height. The highest point of the route is La Raya, at four thousand three hundred thirty-five meters above sea level, where the Andean geography unfolds in all its magnificence with panoramic views of snow-capped peaks, high-altitude lagoons, and geological formations evidencing the region’s historical volcanic activity.
The last cultural stop is at Pukará, where the lithic museum houses a significant collection of pre-Inca sculptures that provide context on the civilizations that preceded the Tahuantinsuyo in the altiplano region.
Arrival in Puno coincides with sunset over Lake Titicaca, creating a natural transition into the next day’s cultural experience.
ACCOMMODATION: Selected hotel in Puno | Meals included: Breakfast and Lunch

Day 9: Uros Island + Taquile Full Day

Breakfast at the Hotel
The ninth day is dedicated to exploring Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable body of water in the world located at 3,800 masl, shared by Peru and Bolivia and considered sacred by the Andean and Inca cultures since pre-Columbian times. The morning navigation takes us first to the famous Uros Floating Islands, artificial constructions made entirely of totora, a local aquatic plant that serves both as building material and food base for this unique lake culture. The experience includes hands-on demonstrations of totora construction and traditional raft sailing, showcasing the technical sophistication of this culture fully adapted to the lake environment.
We then navigate to Taquile Island, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO for its unique ancestral textile traditions, where men specialize in fine weaving while women spin thread, reversing traditional gender roles in textile activities. The ceremonial walk along Inca stone paths leads us to the main community, where we participate in an authentic cultural exchange including demonstrations of ancestral textile techniques, interpretation of traditional Andean music and dance, and a community lunch prepared with local ingredients. This cultural experience provides invaluable insight into systems of community social organization, traditional craftsmanship, and contemporary Andean worldview that still maintains core elements of ancestral spirituality.
