The Moon Valley tour in San Pedro de Atacama will start at 3:00 p.m. in winter and 4:00 p.m. in summer, departing from our office.
Moon Valley is located just 10 km west of San Pedro de Atacama. It is an impressive destination that offers a wide variety of outstanding attractions. Among them are the Amphitheatre, the Three Marys, the Great Dune, and the Cari viewpoint, also known as “Coyote Stone,” which provides a perfect observation point to witness the beauty of the sunset. This area was declared a natural sanctuary in 1982 and is part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve, within the Salt Mountain Range.
Moon Valley features remarkable geological formations such as ridges with peaks, hollows, and hills of grey and ochre tones. These characteristics contribute to its unique lunar appearance, which is especially striking during the tour. After enjoying the fascinating sunset, we return to San Pedro de Atacama, ending the tour around 7:00 p.m.
Tour not available on Saturdays.
Pick-up is included only within the urban area of San Pedro de Atacama.
