These seven monuments from around the world were chosen by more than 90\nmillion people in 2007, when the private company New Open World Corporation\norganized a worldwide competition so that the inhabitants of the Earth\nthemselves would choose their seven new wonders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The result was tight, and 21 cities and architectural works\nfrom all continents built up to the year 2000 reached the final phase to became\none of the <strong>7 Wonders of the World<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>These are the<\/strong> <strong>7 New Wonders of the World<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-1-petra-jordan\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1Petra_Jordan\"><\/span>1.Petra, Jordan<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Petra is the first of the Seven New Wonders of the Modern\nWorld. This Jordanian city, originally known as Raqmu, is famous for its\nrock-cut architecture as well as its advanced water conduit system. Komodo Island<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Komodo Island is a small Indonesian island found in the\nLesser Sunda Islands. The island is of volcanic origin and is located in the\nPacific Ring of Fire. Its most distinctive feature is that it is the place\nwhere the famous Komodo dragons or Komodo monsters live.
