Many millions of years ago, there was a lake in this area, whose bottom was slowly raised by earth movements and earthquakes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These geographical changes gave rise to what is now known as Cordillera de la Sal in the Atacama Desert in Chile, South America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Valle de la Luna Chile is precisely a part of this mountain range, the most visited by tourists due to its special
